Christmas Traditions Part 2 – the Mish Mash Tree

After a fabulous Chrimstas lunch with some fabulous friends, it was back home to “put the tree up”.

The initial tradition of the Christmas Tree Lights was completed this morning, whereby I stand on a dodgy stool, untangling the lights with ease (another tradition – no one is allowed near the lights when its time to Take The Tree Down due to their inability to take them off without tangling them, or returning them to the box without tangling them) and wrapping them around the tree, standing on several and havingg a lot of “Get. Away. From. The. Tree. NOW!” type discussions.

Then it was time to grab the decorations box and put everything we have on the tree; inlcuding keepsakes, crafty things done by the kids (not that they’re any good, but I my evil plan is to utilise them when they’re older and highly embarrased by such things … so have to keep with it now so I can use the “but it’s tradition” reasoning) and whatever else has made it into the Box since the dawn of time.

The result …

A Mish Mash Tree

Which consisted of, among other things …

A “Disco Stu” ball …

A Stuffed Santa, which happens to have a litte gold loop attached to the end of his hat, and, therefore must be something to hang on a tree …

… and, some bits of gold string that are supposed to be used for attaching balls to the tree, but are, apparently, a decoration within themselves …
