  1. In many cases, manipulation equates with – in a word – self-preservation (do 2 words joined together still qualify?) Babies manipulate their environments for their very survival. It’s when they start to grow older that they, as do we adults, learn to manipulate for personal gain. In a marriage, I like to think of manipulation as an art form.
