Communicaiton is a big thing for me.
I’m big on it. You got something that’s annoying you, you tell me about it. I do something you don’t like, you talk to me and usually we can resolve it.
You want something, you ask for it.
Communication is also why I don’t like toddlers very much. Whilst I LOVE the development of language and finding it extremely fascinating, I equally find a toddler’s ability – or lack thereof – to reqeuest something extremely frustrating.
So there we are … “What do you want for breakfast?”
“Look. A train! Tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot!”
“You want porridge?”
Which is pretty much the standard, daily breakfast fare for said toddler.
“Is a big one. Oooh. He go crash!”
So I just go with making the porridge. And put it on the table. And tell him it’s ready. And tell him to come get it.
“NOOOOOOOOOOO! I don’ like dat one!” he screams at me, kicking his legs as I attempt to put him in his chair.
“Get a ‘nudder one!” he adds. Still in screaming mode.
