No PC nursery rhymes here

It seems they have been singing nursery rhymes at childcare.

I am often asked to sing them to Chippie.

He runs through some well-known titles. I only know Twinkle, twinkle little star.

This, apparently, is no good as I am often told “please shut up, Mummy” and “no, no singing dat one, shut up” and “no, no that’s enough”. Once I got kicked.

I’m pleased, however, that the childcare centre hasn’t bowed to the PC pressure and started singing “baa baa rainbow sheep” which is just stupid.

(Also, apparently, it’s a “little boy or girl who lives down the lane”. This doesn’t even fit in. Nor is it necessary. Or sexist. FFS!)

And a good thing, too, as it is his favourite. Or, the only one he knows the title of and/or can say, because it’s the one he requests the most.

Did I mention no political correctness?

There’s definitely none, because his request is for “blah blah, back sheep”.

I’m still unsure s to whether he is still learning to speak properly, or he’s having a go at the childcare staff. Being a part of our family, it is more likely the latter.

Still, I shall treat you to a version of Twinkle, twinkle that I made up all by myself.

Ok, with a bit of help from Chippie.

Stinky, stinky, stinky poo
Chippie did a very big poo
It’s a very smelly one
I’m surprised at what comes out your bum
Stinky, stinky, stinky poo
Chippie did a very big poo

(Sung, of course, to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle. Please feel free to use this, and insert the name of your very own child. Who says I don’t share? Huh?)
