After introducing the kids to more Monty Python, in the form of Life of Brian, that was our Friday Night Family Movie of Choice, with pizza, last night.
That I can deal with.
Grumpy, however, either caving to some nagging, or just being truly inspired, I can’t tell which, located the Monty Python Sings CD again and played it for the children.
I ensconced myself in my office, tidying up and listening to the same three songs being played over and over and over, with only a short break for then to nag me to play their DSes, listen to them fight over the one game the nag at them to get off because thier time limit is up.
Burn some oil in the saucepan I’m using to make lunch, then manage to boil dry the water and bi-carb soda mix that I have put on the stove top, because, for normal people, this boiling of said mix “lifts” the burnt stuff off the bottom of the saucpan.
For people like me, it just cause it to burn and add more burnt stuff to the bottom of the saucepan.
All done to the repeated tune of Always look on the bright side of life – which is, of course, my motto and why this blog was started in the first place. Well, technically my motto is If you don’t laugh, you’ll probably slit your wrists, but same same, yes?
And the backdrop of a two and a half year old yelling our words like “dong” and “penis” – courtesy of same CD.
Oh, and here we go again … if I have to listen to someone singing at me to “always look on the bright side of life”, again, I will fucking stab someone.
(Yes, I’m well aware of the irony of that comment, than you very much – how are your school holidays going?)
