Yup. There’s this mum at little kids gymnastics that has a kid who wears his jarmies during the class.
Satin boxer shorts, no less!
That mum would be me.
What can I say? Godzilla loves his jarmies. Has for a long time.
I do the right thing, put him in trackies (its cold in the room) but he wears his jarmies underneath, week in and week out, and takes the trackies off and wears his jarmy boxer shorts in the class.
Then he wears them to kinder. But he does put his clothes back on. Over the top.
I’m not a bad mother. Not neglectful or anything. It’s not like I don’t care. It’s just, well, I don’t care.
He’s comfortable. He’s happy.
Most importantly, he’s not chucking a tanty.
The way I see it, I’m raising a child who is confident, doesn’t care what people think, can dress himself (even if he does look like he was dressed by a blind man with no fashion sense. Or his father) and is comfortable with himself.
Convinced yet? Works for me.
