  1. This is smart. S.M.R.T. SMART!
I have a big issue with so-called calorie-tracking websites nd apps. They make a big deal of setting limits/goals on calorie intake/expenditure and various nutrients like sugars, protein, carbohydrates and so on by breaking down each food entered into the various categories. Sounds fabulous on the surface – “woohoo! Something to tell me what to eat and all I have to do is sit here and enter it into my phone!”. Where it all falls over is that it makes no distinction, really, between “sugars” provided by fruit and vegetables, and those provided by mars bars. It’s way too easy to reach the calorie and nutrient targets without consuming any organic matter at all.

  2. Yep. That’s an issue I also have with GI. Fundamentally, it is an awesome concept and is brilliant when applied to athletes and similar.

In the hands of the general population and marketers it can be totally skewed and misappropriated to the detriment of most of us.
